Looking to See : Sketching sessions at FENDA
We are halfway into drawing sessions with Eagan at FENDA that started on 7th July.
So far, we are learning to look at an object to see it as it is, rather than to understand what it is. Day 1 was about contour drawing – slow concentrated sketching of the outlines of our own hands, a chair, an umbrella and so on. From sessions 2 onwards, we are trying to understand form – by focusing on broad areas of tones, shapes and lines of an object, a person or space – to capture the character of the subject according to what we see.

At the next session we will be studying perspective drawing. Will post more updates here as we go.
